Maress Summer Campaign featured in the article 'The ABS´s of Decarbonisation'
At VPS, we’re inspired to see the Maress Summer Campaign featured in the recent Riviera Maritime Media article "The ABS´s of Decarbonisation" by John Snyder as a standout example of collaboration and innovation in action. The 12 vessel owners in the campaign, and the crew on the 303 vessels, achieved remarkable results:
- Reduced fuel consumption
- Cut 7,000+ tonnes of CO2 emissions
- Fostered data-driven collaboration between operators and charterers
Through Maress dashboards and targeted advice, we supported participants in their decarb work, and we saw initiatives such as optimized engine use, improved battery utilization, and shore power usage—all while engaging in friendly competition to drive impactful change. Seeing this initiative creating positive ripples in the industry, and more vessel owners eager to take part, is a motivational boost.
The campaign winners: Falcon Tide (Tidewater), Normand Sigma (Solstad Offshore), Rem Power (Rem Offshore), and Sanco Swift (Sanco Shipping), demonstrated how performance improvements can lead to meaningful emissions reductions.
As we reflect on this campaign’s success, we are reminded of the importance of acting boldly, collaborating openly, and embracing innovation to tackle the challenges of decarbonisation.
