Fuel Combustion Analysis (FCA)
From ignition to exhaust: Know how your Fuel burns & How your Engines will deliver
Understanding the combustion behaviour of a new fuel, or the impact upon combustion when switching fuels, are key considerations in understanding how an engine will respond to a fuel. Fuel Combustion Analysis (FCA) provides great insights into the combustion properties of a fuel including: Estimated Cetane, Number, Ignition Delay, Combustion Delay, Combustion Period, After-burn Period and Max Rate of Heat Release.
This information is ideal when developing a new fuel product and also when looking to use a new fuel for the first time. We have key in-house experience of the international test method, IP541/06 for the quantitative determination of ignition and combustion characteristics of fuels for use in compression ignition engines.
